Sketch Frenzy Friday--More Autumn Spice

Hi Stampers!

If it's Friday, it must be Sketch Frenzy Friday--and it IS! Have we got a great sketch for you this week--created by ME!

And here's my card--actually 3 views--the full card, a closeup of the center and a closeup of the little embellishment on the bottom right corner:

I am so in love with the Autumn Spice DSP! And this card has a lot of texture going on: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, DSP punched with the Dotted Scallop border punch, stamped off images from the Day of Gratitude stamp set, three little acorns colored with Early Espresso and More Mustard markers-mounted on a strip punched with the Word Window punch out of Naturals White cardstock and mounted on a punched Cajun Craze small oval. I also used Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon. It is not one of the colors listed with the Autumn Spice DSP, but I think it works very well with those colors. Here are the close ups:

Now, get out your cardstock, inks, and stamps and create your own interpretation of this sketch and upload to our BLOG. You can start at the BLOG to see all the creations OR go to the next stop on the tour, MELINDA'S BLOG

Sketch Frenzy Friday--More My Digital Studio

Hi Stampers!

We have another GREAT sketch for you this week! The awesome Sharon Field created this for us:

Although it LOOKS like a card, this IS the sketch. Isn't it lovely? Well I hope you like my My Digital Studio take on the sketch:

As you can see, I deviated a little bit from the sketch--I left out a layer and moved the ribbon to the back just on top of the card base. It pretty much speaks for itself AND goes along with my Autumn Spice theme this week! WOW! think I am going to make this up in a REAL card!

Cards for the Box-Part 4

Hi Stampers!

Last two cards for the fund raiser box of cards:

I must say, this has been a FUN project! IT also kind of stretched my creativity because I challenged myself to make each card a little different. On some I covered the whole front of the card with a piece of DSP, and on some I used smaller pieces and more elements. The Very Vanilla satin ribbon gave elegance to several of the cards.

Card for the Box-Part 3

Hi Stampers!

Here is the next installment in the fund raiser box of cards:

For each of these card, I used one of our embossing folders: the Early Espresso card uses the Finial Press embosssing folder, and the Cajun Craze card uses the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. And I also used punches on each card. Between embossing folders and punches, Stampin' Up! has the easiest ways to make cards with ZING! And of course, I used more of the Autumn Spice DSP on each card. I also used the Very Vanilla satin ribbon on each of the cards.

Tomorrow, I will share the last two cards.

Enjoy!

Cards for the Box-Part 2

Hi Stampers!

Well, I am continuing with posting the cards I made for the fund raiser silent auction box of cards. Here are cards 3 and 4:

The card on the left is Old Olive with a layer of ANOTHER wonderful pattern from the Autumn Spice DSP on top. The sentiment is from Word Play, inked with Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers. Again, I used Pumpin Pie ribbon, but this time it is the 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.
The card on the right is a base of More Mustard embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder . The sentiment is from another hostess set--the Level 2 set called Cute by the Inch. I punched it out to with the 1-1/4" punch, then cut a piece of 1-1/2" X 1-1/2" of the light colored striped Autumn Spice DSP to mount it on. The Ribbon is Very Vanilla Satin ribbon.

Cards for the Box-Part 1

Hi Stampers:

Here are the first two cards I put in the box for the fund raiser silent auction that I talked about in my post yesterday:

For the card on the left, I used Old Olive for the card base and overlaid a piece of the small leaf print from the FABULOUS Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper. I scalloped the edge of it with the Eyelet Border Punch. The "Thanks" is from one of the stamps in the Level 1 Hostess Set, Afterthoughts--which can be yours with a workshop or an order totaling a minimum of $150. There is another line of text on the stamp, but I chose not to use it, so I inked just the "Thanks" with an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker. The ribbon is the 3/8" Pumpkin Pie ribbon. Although Pumpkin Pie is not one of the colors that is supposed to coordinate with Autumn Spice I think it works very well!

The card on the right is one of the other designs from Autumn Spice DSP, and it's the same one I used for the box bottom. The butterfly is punched from the extra-large Butterfly punch using another one of the prints from Autumn Spice. I also punched a strip of the paper with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The sentiment is from a 2010 SAB set that is, sadly, no longer available. I stamped it on a piece of Naturals White cardstock and punched it out using the Scalloped Oval puncxh and mounted it on a piece of Old Olive cardstock punched out with the Wide Oval punch.

Stay tuned on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for more of the cards.

Enjoy!

A Box and Cards for a Fund Raiser

Hi Stampers:

Our church was having a Trivia Night fund raiser to raise some money for repairs to a primary school in Tanzania. I was asked to donate something for the silent auction. I chose to make a box and fill it with 8 cards and envelopes. Here is the box I made:

I used two different prints from the Autumn Spice DSP to make the top and bottom. This Designer Series Paper is cardstock weight, so it makes a nice sturdy bos. Here's how I did it:

For the bottom, cut your paper to 8-1/2" X 9-3/4". Score 2" in from each of the edges of the paper. Cut on each score line 2" in from each corner on the short sides of the paper. Fold on all score lines into a box shape and use Sticky Strip to attach the small squares to the inside ends of the box. The box will be 2" deep.

For the top, cut your paper to 7-3/4" X 8-3/4". Score 1-1/2" from each edge, cut the same as above, fold and attach with Sticky Strip. Now you have the top for your box.

For this box, I used the Early Espresso sheet for the bottom and the plumey flower sheet for the top. The beauty of this paper is that the inside of the box is as pretty as the outside because the paper is double sided with different designs on each side. I tied a piece of Vanilla Satin ribbon around the box.
Stay tuned for the next couple of days and I will share the cards I put into the box with you!

Enjoy!
