Sketch Frenzy Friday--A Simple Card

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday again and you know what that means--Sketch Frenzy Friday!!! Here's our sketch from the fabulous Patrice Herrera:

I loved Patrice's sketch, but of course, added my own twist to it. I started by creating my card in MDS. As you know, I do quite a few cards in MDS. Here is what I did:

  • Spook Central More Mustard with dots DSP--without rounded corners (my twist!)

  • Two tags, enlarged and turned at an angle per the sketch

  • Two strips of Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon made slightly narrower along with a smaller Chocolate Chip bow

  • Sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases stamp brush set in Chocolate Chip

  • Three Chocolate Chip brads

Really, the only change I made was not using a layer with rounded corners, otherwise, it's pretty true to the sketch!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--Springtime Vintage

Hi Stampers!

Another Friday, another sketch! That's right, it's Sketch Frenzy Friday again! Here's our sketch by Sharon Field:

And here's my MDS card of the sketch:

As you can see, I once again used the Springtime Vintage DSP in MDS. I also used the MDS Chat Room-Love stamp brush set, colored Rose Red, Seam Binding ribbon in Rose Red, the full heart punch in Rose Red, a Brad in Baja Breeze, and a button in Baja Breeze. The card base is Basic Grey, the first layer is Baja Breeze, and the second layer is one of the Springtime Vintage patterns. I really LOVE doing cards in MDS and I LOVE the Springtime Vintage DSP. I guess I should probably also try making some traditional cards with REAL DSP, ribbon, brads, buttons and Stamps!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 9-10-10

Hi Stampers!

It's beautiful weather here in Cincinnati. I woke up this morning to cool temps and blue, blue skies! Too bad I have to spend the day in an office! Oh, well, there's always the way cool SFF sketch to keep me happy inside! And here it is:

This sketch comes to us from Tammy Baldwin. Isn't it great? I just love it! Too bad I didn't have time to STAMP a card. Instead, I created my card in MDS. I LOVE MDS!! I have done several of these sketches in MDS. The nice thing about it is that I now have a small library of cards that I can print, or have printed thru Stampin' Up! to have on hand for sending! Here is my interpretation of the sketch--very much a copy:
I used Very Vanilla cardstock as the base, layered with the small flower designer paper design in Chocolate Chip, then more layers of Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. All of the layers were created with the square punch and adjusted to size. I then used the large flower punch in Very Vanilla and the small flowers paper fill in Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from the Always stamp brush set--it was so easy to change the color of the font to Very Vanilla. I also used the Very Vanilla brads and Very Vanilla satin ribbon as embellishments. Everything is in MDS and so easy to put together!
