Sketch Frenzy Friday--It's Christmas!!!

Hi Stampers:

Yes it's Christmas! And I am posting my first Christmas Card of the Season! It just so happens that the sketch is my design (it was my turn to supply the sketch)! However, this time, the card actually came BEFORE the sketch. I designed the card for a swap with other SU! demos, and liked the design so much, that I decided to use the sketch for my contribution to SFF for today. Here is my sketch:

And here is my card:

As you can tell, I didn't exactly follow the sketch! I did not include the ribbon and tag, and also did not put a sentiment on it. I was thinking that a sentiment would block the embossing folder snowflakes, so left it off. Here is the recipe:

  • Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Whisper White Cardstock

  • A Beautiful Season stamp set

  • Stazon Jet Black and Early Espresso Inks

  • Bird and holly colored with Pastels and Blender pen

  • Scallop Oval die and Big Shot

  • Cherry Cobbler quilted satin ribbon

  • Northern Flurry embossing folder

That's all from me today! Let's click over to MARIA'S BLOG to see what she's created. And you can always up load your own creation or start the mini blog tour at the SFF BLOG.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--A 10 minute Card

Hi Stampers!

Woo Hoo! It's Friday! We have another great sketch for you this week, created by the awesome Jennifer Weide:

I love this sketch! And I was able to create a card in 10 minutes--some kind of record for me! I usually agonize over what I'm going to create for this challenge, but this week it was easy peasy!
Here is my creation:

Here's what I used:

  • Card base of Early Espresso

  • Scallop circle and 3" circle and small scallop circle cut with the Big Shot from N*E*W Spice Cake Designer Series Paper--available in the N*E*W Holiday Mini. (See my side bar for more information and to order) I used the two scallop circles die and the 3" circle die (already said that didn't I!!)

  • Sentiment stamped with Early Espresso ink on So Saffron card stock and punched with the word window punch. I sponged the edges with the same ink. (Have I mentioned that I LOVE Early Espresso for stamping sentiments?)

  • Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon

Well, let's hop on over to PATRICE's BLOG for another take on this sketch, OR you can start at the beginning of our mini tour by clicking on the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--9-3-10

Hi Stampers!
We have a GREAT sketch for you today:

Our artist for this sketch today is Melinda Couden. Didn't she come up with a wonderful design? And here's my interpretation:

For this card I used Early Espresso and Confetti White card stock, Greenhouse Gala DSP, Peach Parfait and Early Espresso ink, Basic Pearls--centers of the circle images, the polka dots textured impressions folder for the Big Shot, the scallop circle punch and the Word Window punch. I think it turned out pretty good! What do you think?

To see more of the SFF blogs, you can start on our group blog-HERE or click HERE and go to Melinda's blog.

Happy Stamping!

Sketch Frenzy Friday!!

Hi Stampers!

Sketch Frenzy Friday is here again. Our sketch this week was created by Tess Davis, and it is LOVELY. Here it is:

And here is my interpretation:

I left off the flourish next to the greeting, and also added buttons on the left. I think it came out pretty good! What do you think?

You can link your own take on the sketch by going to our NEW SFF BLOG--HERE. You can see the sketch, create your own sample and upload it using the linky on the blog. To go to Melinda's blog, click HERE.

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday Number 2!!

Hi Everyone:

One of the GREAT things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is getting to hook up with other demonstrators who share your passion for stamping. As part of the Late Nite Stampers, I get to hang out with other great demonstrators and stampers who have enormous talent for this craft I love.

Recently, some of us formed a sub-group to post a sketch and samples made from that sketch every Friday. The group actually posted their first sketch and samples LAST Friday, 5/21, but due to computer circumstances beyond my control, I couldn't participate. But, being the great bunch of people they are, I have another chance to participate THIS week. Here's the template:

And here is my sample:

I am VERY happy with my sample! I used the fabulous Vintage Vogue set, which is carrying over to the new catalog in July. The cardstock colors are Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry. Inks are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, and Pale Plum. Instead of the line of same-sized brads, I used one of the filigree brads with a larger silver colored brads from the 5/16"neutrals brad assortment. For the greeting instead of using Hodge Podge hardware, I stamped the greeting on Whisper White which I punched out with the scallop oval punch, then I backed it with a scallop oval cut out with the Movers and Shapers die for the big shot. My ribbon is the Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon.
Don't forget to check out the other Sketch Frenzy Friday blogs. You can find a list in the left sidebar under the Sketch Frenzy Friday logo OR, see my 5/27 post just below this.

Mini Milk Carton Birdhouse

It all started with my mother-in-law's 90th birthday party. Being the chief crafter in our family, I of course TOLD everyone that I wanted to make the table decorations. My mother-in-law wanted pink, and I was already thinking of doing the Mini Milk Carton birdhouses. I LOVE MY BIG SHOT and I LOVE THIS DIE!!! So, I made 10 center pieces with birdhouses perched on little poles in flower pots. They were all made using Soft Subtles card stock, Sweet Pea and Welcome Neighbor DSP and Sweet Pea felt flowers. The flower pots were recycled from center pieces I made for a dinner at our church last November--but that's another post!!
Next step: BRAG ABOUT WHAT I DID!!! My up line, Sharon is having a full down line meeting here in Cincinnati on 3/27, so I sent her a picture of my center piece and asked if she wanted me to design a Mini Milk Carton birdhouse for one of our projects. This is the one I sent her: Front view

And side view:
But this is not my only idea. Stay tuned for more examples!
