SFF062014--A Baby Card

Hi Stampers!

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday time again!  We have a great sketch from Patrice:
And here is the baby card I decided to make:
The daughter of some friends recently gave birth to a darling little girl.  This is their first grandchild, and want I wanted to let them know how happy we are for them!  Appropriately, I decided to use some of the Lullaby DSP on the card.  It has colors I would never have thought to use together:  Coastal Cabana and Hello Honey, but surprisingly, they look pretty good together.  In addition to the two stamp sets and one of my favorite punches, I tied a piece of Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon around one of the new In Color Printed Clothespins--LOVE them!!

Hopefully, you'll have time today to check out the other designers' great cards.  Just visit our blog  Sketch Frenzy Friday

Here's a list of the items I used:
Enjoy!

SFF--Sweet Stitches MDS card

Hi Stampers:

Well, it's the last full week of Sale-a-Bration, BUT the Occasions Mini still has a month to run! YAY! So, today I am showing one of the MDS downloads of the Sew Suite series of products. For this card I used one of the Sweet Stitches DSP sheets. It's the one with different stitches! But I am getting ahead of myself. Her is our sketch this week, by Jennifer Weide:

And here is my MDS card:

There are quite a few things from the Occasions Mini that I haven't played with yet, so I was glad to use a little piece--even in MDS--of the lovely Sweet Stitches DSP. As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side and added a sentiment from Baroque Motifs stamp brush set to it. The card base is Melon Mambo. I also added Old Oloive satin ribbon. Pretty simple, but I think it turned out pretty great!
Well, I am closing now so I can finish prepping for my FOURTH workshop this month! This is a new record for me!

Sketch Frenzy Friday-1-21-11--Back to MDS

Hi Stampers!

Well, once again I am back to using MDS for the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge. Today's sketch was given to us by Melissa Hedine-Tootle, and I REALLY like it! Here it is:

With my interpretation, I had a little bit of difficulty deciding how to do the scallops in MDS. I don't know how Melissa did hers, but for mine I used the wide scallop oval punch overlapped to create the scallops. Here is my take on the sketch:

The card base is textured Old Olive cardstock with a layer of Whisper White on top. The scallops as mentioned before were created with the wide oval punch and colored Old Olive. The flourish and the sentiment are from the Baroque Motifs stamp brush set. I really don't use the Baroque Motifs set very often-either the live set or the MDS set, so this is a change for me. I colored the flourish Certainly Celery, and the sentiment is Early Espresso.
