Sketch Frenzy Friday--MDS Painted Petals

Hello Everyone!

It's time again for Sketch Frenzy Friday!  I chose to go with MDS this week simply because MDS is going away on May 31, 2015.  I am a little bit sad because I like using MDS, but as we all know, all good things must come to an end, and this is one of them.  I am sure there will be new and exciting things coming from Stampin' Up!. so don't worry!  We'll still have plenty of things to play with.

Here is our sketch from Jennifer Kay:
And, here is my MDS creation:
Such a pretty sketch, and I love how it came to life with MDS.

SFF022715--Digital Spring

Hi Stampers:

It is STILL cold and snowy in this neck of the woods, and everyone is longing for spring!  I have a little spring preview to show you today that is created with the My Digital Studio Butterfly Basics Stamp Brush Set.  When I am short of time, or just plain busy, I love to create with MDS!  But first, here is our sketch this week, which I created:
And here is my MDS Digital Creation:
All of the stamps are from the Butterfly Basics My Digital Studio Stamp Brush Set.  The colors I used are Very Vanilla--background paper; Crushed Curry--honeycomb stamp(I changed the opacity to 50%); 2 of the leaf branches in Baked Brown Sugar (opacity 60% and 40%);  the butterfly and the sentiment in Rose Red.  The three flags are digital burlap ribbon.
Now, check out what the other designers have done at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.

SFF013015 - Digital Love

Hi Stampers:
It's Sketch Frenzy Friday time again!  Today, we have a cute sketch from Jennifer Kay:

I love flags on cards, so, of course, my card has flags on it.  Also, as you might know if you have visited my blog before, when I have run out of time to make a "real" card, I usually wind up making a digital card in MDS.  That's what I did this week.  Here is my card:
The colors are Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and Soft Suede.  The diagonal striped strip of DSP is from the Candy Cane Lane designer kit.  The two flags are the polka dot and script digital designer paper.  The hugs and kisses stamp set is from the All Holiday stamp brush set.  I colored the words in Real Red and the ampersand in Soft Suede.

Our other designers have great cards posted using this sketch, so hop on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog and check them out!  We'd also LOVE to have you play along with us, so link up your creation on the blog.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--More My Digital Studio

Hi Stampers!

It's time once again for Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our group of designers is blessed with lots of talent and today we are creating based on this sketch by Elizabeth Harris:
Isn't this a cute design?  Sometimes I run out of time to stamp, and I try to show my take on the design in My Digital Studio.  Here's what I created:
I LOVE the Watercolor Wonder DSP, even the digital version.  Along with the DSP, I used digital burlap ribbon and digital pearls which I recolored in Daffodil Delight.

Hope you like my card today.  Now go over to our Sketch Frenzy Friday blog and check out what the other designers created.  And while you're there, add your own creation using the InLinkz tool.  We love to see what you create.

Sketch Frenzy Friday-11-01-13

Hi Stampers:

It's that time of the week again--Sketch Frenzy Friday! YAY!  Our sketch this week was created by Jennifer:
And here's my creation:
I created this card in MDS.  It's been a while since I created an MDS card, and I wanted to take a break from all the fall, Halloween, and Christmas stuff I've been doing lately and do SOMETHING PURPLE!!!  Yes, purple is my FAVORITE color, and I tend NOT to create with it too often or I would be making everything in purple!  For this card I used three of the purple colors in MDS:  Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, and Wisteria Wonder.  The MDS stamp brush sets used are: Bring on the Cake for the Birthday Wishes sentiment and Autumn Elements for the flourishes and flowers.  I also used the Script DSP in Rich Razzleberry and the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon in Elegant Eggplant, along with the Top Note punch shape and the 1-1/4" square punch shape.  All in all, I like it.

Now it's time to check out the other designers on our Sketch Frenzy Friday blogAnd while you're visiting the blog, why not join us in our creativity.  You can upload your creation using the Linky tool on the site.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 10-19-12

Hi Stampers:

Another great day for Sketch FrenzyFriday!  Although we are supposed to get showers in my area, Fridays are always the best.  And speaking of the best--how about this sketch created by Sharon:

And here is my card--created in My Digital Studio:

I was definitely in an autumn mood when I created this!  Colors used are Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, MORE Mustard, and Chocolate chip.  My Digital Studio has a lot of punches that in the paper and ink world are stamps. The leaf and acorn shapes are punches, but in the ink and paper version, they are stamps in the Wonderfall stamp set (w-128084, c-128087), and you can cut them out with the Autumn Accents Bigz die (127812) and your Big Shot (113439).  I love working with both ink and paper AND My Digital Studio!  If you need supplies to create this card, click on my Order button in the left sidebar.

With our new format, you can go to the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG, where you can see all the designers' creations and click on them to visit their blogs.  We love it when you visit us!!!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--It Should Have Been a Birthday Card!!

Hi Stampers:

Yes, I should have made a birthday card for myself because today is my birthday! My husband gave me a pink rose for my day--he is so sweet! Instead, I made an MDS thank you card. I am still on a kick with the Tea Shoppe stamp brush set. I also chose to use my favorite colors--Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant. I am a purple girl!!! Here's my card:

And here is the sketch from Tina Munzke:

MDS is very forgiving and flexible. I started out with a card base of Elegant Eggplant, but thought it was too dark, so I changed the opacity to 65% to make the color a bit less intense. The large circle is filled with Perfect Plum Blooms DSP. The stamps were colored full strength Elegant Eggplant and the Modern Label digital punch is white.

Enough from me! Let's click over to MARIA'S BLOG and see what she created. And don't forget; you can always start the tour and/or upload your own creation at our main blog, SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

Sketch Frenzy Friday--An Autumn MDS Card

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday again and time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday. Woo Hoo! Our sketch today was created by Sharon Wheet:

And here's my project:

Of course I had to change it up a bit. I wanted to create and autumn card, so I chose the Autumn Spice DSP (retired but still available as an MDS download) for one of my elements. In addition, I used the following:

  • More Mustard background

  • A layer of Very Vanilla

  • The bird punch shapes in Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, and Chocolate Chip small polka dot DSP

  • A strip of Cajun Craze grosgrain ribbon

  • A strip of Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon

  • A basic pearl for the bird's eye

Now it's time to go see what MARIA has created. Why don't you join us? You can upload your creation at our main blog, SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

Sketch Frenzy Friday--It's My Sketch!

Hi Stampers:

Yes, it is Friday, yes it is time for Sketch Frenzy Friday, yes--it's my sketch design. I am so excited to bring you this sketch! I LOVE circles and I LOVE layering them. I also LOVE our Designer Paper--even if it is only available in My Digital Studio! So, without further ado, here is the sketch:

And here is my card--created completely in My Digital Studio:

I used a NEW download called Wicked Fun Kit, which became available on Sept. 6. I have and love the set called Wicked Cool and I still have some pieces of the Designer Paper which came out last year and is not now available to buy, but IS available now in MDS. I took elements from the Wicked Fun Kit and used them to create the card. The colors in this kit are Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, and I think there is some Pumpkin Pie in it also, as shown by the label under the Spooky. And speaking of that sentiment, isn't that font cool looking? I love it! I would love to have a whole alphabet of it to play with!

Enough from me! Now it's time to go to MARIA's blog to check out what she has done. Also--you can go to our SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY blog to upload your creation, and to start at the beginning of out mini tour.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday-A Simple MDS Card

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday--YAY!! I love Friday's and I love doing the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenges! Today we have a simple but wonderful sketch from Tina Munzke:

And here's my MDS card:

I used the following in My Digital Studio:

  • Daffodil Delight base

  • Layer of Early Espresso in an elongated 1-1/14" square punch

  • Layer of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper in an elongated 1-1/4" square punch

  • Modern Label Punch in Early Espresso

  • Modern Label Punch in Whisper White

  • 1-1/4" striped Daffodil Delight ribbon

  • the sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp brush set

  • And I used the drop shadow feature on all elements, which I think makes the design look more like a REAL card!

Now it's time to check out all the other samples on our mini tour. Click MARIA'S BLOG to go to the next stop on the tour OR click SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY to go to the beginning of the tour, or to add YOUR sample. We would love to see what you create!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--Another MDS Creation!

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday, so that means another Sketch Frenzy Friday! I am using My Digital Studio again. Did I ever tell you that I LOVE MDS? Well, I do! There are so many things you can do with it. I'm explaining a couple of them in my post today.

First, though, here's our sketch from Tina Taves:

And here is my MDS interpretation:

Here's what I used:

  • Beyond the Garden digital Designer Series Paper

  • Card base of Regal Rose--although the DSP pink color is Rose Red, I thought the Regal Rose matched the DSP better on my computer. And here is one of the MDS options: I lowered the opacity of the Regal Rose color to about 60%--I think that made a better match of the base color to some of the DSP flowers.

  • Scalloped circle punch in Wild Wasabi

  • 1-1/4" circle punch in Whisper White

  • Fabulous Florets Stamp Brush set--the leaf sprig in Wild Wasabi and the solid flower is Regal Rose and Rose Red. I put white smaller circles behind the flowers so that the Wild Wasabi sprig color would not show thru the white spaces of the flowers, but when I added the drop shadows to the flowers, the white turned a bit grayish--Oh well, I still like it. I love using drop shadows on EVERYTHING. I think it makes the creation look a little more like a stamped project and therefore more lifelike.

  • A Regal Rose Bow

And there you have it. Please join us and upload your creation at our SFF BLOG.
You can also continue on the tour by going to MARIA's BLOG.

Enjoy!

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday!!

Hi Stampers:

On Thursday, I drove up to my downline's house (hi Casey!) to stamp with her and another demonstrator, Amy. We had a great time! And I was so busy working on other projects that I DID NOT stamp anything for SFF! So, guess what? You're right! I used My Digital Studio again. Before I show you my creation, let's look at our sketch this week:

Tammy Fite is our artist this week, and I think it's a great sketch! Here's my creation:

I used 2 of the Botanical Gazette papers plus a Pear Pizzazz layer and a Very Vanilla layer. The base is Daffodil Delight. Now that spring is on it's way--don't laugh!--I decided to use a couple of brighter colors. I love Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz! The different layers were made with the 1-1/4" punch resized. And you can also see Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and bow. I wish they would add Daffodil Delight to the Satin Ribbon selections in MDS. Hmmm, maybe I should send that suggestion to Stampin' Up!

To see more examples, you can go to Melinda's Blog or to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog. Please join us by uploading your creation to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday-2-4-11 It's Vintage

Hi Stampers:

Well, it's Friday again, so that must mean it's time again for Sketch Frenzy Friday! Here is this week's sketch, provided by a fabulous Australian demo, Ros Davidson:

This is a great simple sketch that leaves lots of room for imagination and creativity. My interpretation, as usual is done with My Digtital Studio:

I love the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper in the Occasions mini, so I also bought the MDS Digital download. The download does not include ALL the papers from the pack, but there are selections of all the colors. I also love the Vintage Flower embellishments. In real life, they are plastic--flat on one side and raised on the other. To make them appear more 3-D, I used a drop shadow on all of them. I also used the Chantilly crochet ribbon trim and a bow, and used a drop shadow on them also. The sentiment is typed using a font on my computer and colored Early Espresso. I layered the Decorative label punch in Rose Red and Very Vanilla with drop shadows for them also. The card base is Crumb Cake. The largest paper layer is not from the Sprintime Vintage papers, but is one of the Baja Breeze background papers. The smallest paper layer is Springtime Vintage. Well, that's it! To see more projects click on Melinda's Blog for the next stop on the tour, or on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog. And don't forget, you can upload your own creation on the SFF blog!

The sketch this week is by Tess Davis:

Cute, isn't it? Here's my interpretation using--what else?--My Digital Studio:

Since Halloween is over, I can now do Christmas projects! This project uses the Christmas Jingle Designer Series Paper which is alive and well in MDS! Colors are Old Olive, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White. The stamp images are from the stamp brush set A Holly, Jolly Christmas.
