Sketch Frenzy Friday--A Square Card

Hi Stampers:

Hope you're all doing well this fine Friday! It is hotter than a bandit's pistol (my mother's phrase) here in good ole Cincinnati--up in the 90's again with killer humidity! Well, at least it's cool in my house, so I could stamp a card for SFF this week. First off, here is our sketch from Tammy Fite:

Cute, isn't it? And here is my creation:

I don't think the photography does it justice, since it is a little crooked and the card seems to be leaning. I adjusted and readjusted my easel, but it never really looked right! This is a different kind of card for me since it is 5-1/2" square. Here's what I used:

  • Wild Wasabi card base, cut 5-1/2" X 11" and scored at 5-1/2" and folded in half.

  • A 5-1/4" square piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions embossing folder.

  • Peach Parfait scallop square cut with the Big Shot and embossed with the Flower Garden Textured Impressions embossing folder. I popped it up over the white layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • Sentiment from the Cottage Garden stamp set and stamped with Early Espresso ink--my favorite for stamping words and sentiments!

  • A length of the so pretty 5/8" organza ribbon.

Tropical Party

Here's a card I stamped tonight with a great new stamp set, Tropical Party. This set is available in the NEW Summer Mini catalog which runs from May 1 thru August 31. I also used the another stamp set in the mini--In a Word and the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper. The colors in the paper are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, and So Saffron. I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Whisper White cardstock along with Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie Ink. Two of the flowers are stamped and cut out (my friend Mary Brown would be so proud of me!) and the third flower is cut from the DSP. I also used the Lattice embossing folder from the Summer mini on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I couldn't lay my hands on my Rose Red ribbon, so I cut a 1" wide piece of Rose Red cardstock and angled the end to look like a cut ribbon. This was so much fun to make! Royal Blog Tour Starts Now!

Hello everyone and welcome to my castle on the Royal Blog Tour! I have three projects that I created for this tour. I chose the stamp set Asian Artistry, which is a Level 2 hostess set in the current catalog. If you host a workshop and your workshop total is at least $300, you can choose this set for FREE! It's a gorgeous set and I love the simplicity and the nature theme of the set. Here's the whole set of projects: a 4-1/4"X5" card, a Fancy Favor box and a small scallop circle gift card which fits in the Fancy Favor box

For all three projects I used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive textured card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Basic Black Stampin' Write marker, and Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. On the large card, I embossed a piece of Old Olive card stock with the Square Lattice embossing folder which will be available in the Summer Mini catalog beginning May 1. Here's a picture of the inside of the card--I love to dress up the inside!

And finally--here's a picture of the Fancy Favor box and the small scalloped card--both made with the Big Shot--and both a lot of fun!!

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Thanks for visiting! And don't forget to look for the clues needed to sign up for the Big Shot drawing!! To go to the next blog, click on the glass slippers.
