Sketch Frenzy Friday--5/24/13

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday, Friday, F-R-I-D-A-Y!!  I feel like I have been set free.  Some of my September thru May activities are winding down, and I will have more free time starting next week.  I am so excited about this week's sketch for SFF!  The sketch is just fabulous and was created by the fabulous Tammy Fite:

And here is my creation:
Don't you just love it?  Well, even if you don't, I love it!!!  Here's what I used:
  • Melon Mambo and Whisper White card stock
  • NEW Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper
  • NEW Mosaic Madness Stamp Set
  • Happy Birthday photopolymer stamp from the Dolled Up Birthday card kit
  • NEW Modern Mosaic TIEF
  • NEW Mosaic Punch
  • Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pads
  • Island Indigo Stampin' Write Marker
  • Island Indigo brad from the 2011-2013 In Color Brads
  • 3/4" circle punch
As you can tell, the flower is made by stamping a design from the Mosaic Madness stamp set and then punching them out.  I used 7 punches.  I also punched three shapes from the Pear Pizzazz design of the Gingham Garden DSP and also punched a 3/4" circle from one of the Daffodil Delight flowers in the same DSP.  I also decorated the inside of the card:
I just LOVE this card!  It is so bright and cheery!  I think I'll send it to my sister for her June 6 birthday!

Enough from me, today!  As you know, all of the designers have their creations posted on the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG and you can post yours their also.  Just use the Linky tool.  We hope you'll join us!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 05-17-13

Hi Stampers:

It's Friday again and time for another awesome sketch and card!  Today our sketch was created by....drum roll, please, ME!  I had a lot of fun with this sketch, both creating it and then making a card based on it.  So first of all, here's the sketch:
And here is my card:
This card has two sneak peek items on it.  The stripes were created with the new Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape, and the butterfly was punched from the new Gingham Garden Designer series paper.  Both of these items will be available in the new IBC which debuts on May 31, 2013.  I also used:
  • Daffodil Delight card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Beautiful Butterfly punch
  • Wacky Wishes stamp set--retiring June 3
  • Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • 5/8" Flower Trim--gone after May 31
  • Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pad
  • Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad
  • Island Indigo Classic Ink Pad--retiring as an In Color, BUT coming into the Core Colors!! Yay!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 05-10-13

Hi Stampers!

I'm back!!  Did you miss me??  Things have been hectic around my house, and I have been doing several vendor and craft shows, so stamping time has been limited.  However, I did find some time to stamp a card for this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday, based on the sketch by Jennifer:
I think this sketch is deceptively simple.  There are many ways it can be interpreted, and you will see several different ones from our designers.  Here's mine:
First, let me apologize for the way my card leans.  The best place to take pictures of my creations is in my kitchen, and I set my card on top of the paper towel spindle, not realizing that it would shift when I took the picture.  I tried to correct it in my FastStone program, but it still leans.  Oh well!

Here's what I used:
  • This and That Designer Series Paper
  • Pool Party card stock
  • This and That Designer Washi tape--the Crumb Cake with the diagonal stripe on top--with banner tails cut into the ends.
  • Retiring 2011-2013 In Color brads in Pool Party and Calypso Coral
I have really fallen in love with the This and That items, and have used them a LOT lately.  I will post some additional items I created in the next few days.

Now, go back to the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG and check out the other designers' creations.  Remember, we have everyone posted on the blog, for your convenience in viewing all of them.  Please join us with your own creation.  You'll find the Linky tool on the blog.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 04-19-13 Sent With Love

Hi Stampers!

Whew!!  It's Friday and time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday!  I don't know about you, but I am glad this week is over!!  Taxes done!  But always more and more stuff to do all the time!  However, I DID find some time to stamp!  Our sketch this week was created by Tammy Fite, and here it is:
I think this is one great sketch!!!  Here's what I did with it:
I used the Sent With Love Bundle (132851, $25.50).  This bundle includes a stamp set (Sent With Love, 131847, $17.95), a package of Sent With Love Designer Series Paper, 132185,$10.95) and a package of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine--which is not available outside of the bundle.  The stamp set and DSP can be ordered by themselves, but the best deal is the bundle--20% off plus the Baker's Twine!!!
In addition to the bundle, I also used:
  • Whisper White card stock, 100730, $8.50 (40 sheets)
  • Calypso Coral card stock, 122925, $6.95 (24 sheets)
  • Island Indigo card stock, 122923, $6.95 (24 sheets)
  • Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die, 120893, $42.95
  • Labels Collection Framelits, 125598, $26.95--I used the smallest die under the Sealed with a kiss stamp
  • 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 127811, $15.95
Two more pictures for you: side view
Yes, that is a roll of paper towels behind the card.  My kitchen has fluorescent lighting which is GREAT for picture taking.  And inside of the card:

Sketch Frenzy Friday 040513: A Little Wisteria Wonder

Hi Stampers:

Happy Friday to all of you!  It's Sketch Frenzy Friday time and we have a cute and quick sketch for you created by Robbie:

And, as you know, a sketch is a license to interpret in your own way!!  Here's my card:

This card started off as one idea and wound up as something totally different!!!  I had cut the Wisteria Wonder card stock and embossed the one piece with the Honeycomb TIEF about 2 weeks ago.  I knew I wanted to do something with the Oval Framelits, but couldn't decide what to do.  Then I re-discovered my much neglected Bordering on Romance stamp set.  You might notice that water coloring is NOT my strong suit!!!  I stamped the image with Stazon Jet Black ink, and water colored with Wisteria Wonder and Garden Green ink pads.  I was trying to get a look of pansies.  Perhaps I should have used Perfect Plum instead of Wisteria Wonder!  Then I had the brilliant (?) idea to add some touches of Daffodil Delight with the Stampin' Write marker.  After I did that, I decided that maybe I shouldn't have done that!  But I went with it anyway.  The small scalloped image is from the NEW sneak peek set, Round Array, which is available right now.  It is mounted on top of a strip of Wisteria Wonder ribbon, which is mounted on top of a strip of Very Vanilla card stock.  Oh, by the way, the flower image was cut out with an Oval framelit and sponged with Wisteria Wonder on the edges.  I also spritzed the card with Vanilla Smooch Spritz.  One thing I DO like about the card is the embossed layer that is the same color as the base card!

Well, that's it for this SFF!  Check out our SFF BLOG where you can see all the designers' cards.  And don't forget that you can join us!  Just use the Linky tool on the blog!!!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 031513--Flowers X 2

Hi Stampers:
Happy Friday to you!  It looks like we are going to have sunshine today--a rare occurence in Cincinnati during the winter months.  Makes me think spring will be here soon!  Our sketch this week from Jennifer Weide reflects that hope for spring:

When I first looked at this sketch, I DID NOT SEE the layers!!!  So my card doesn't have any!!  Here is my card:
The flower on the left is created from 5 layers of Tea for Two Designer Series Paper punched out with the Blossom punch.  I offset each layer from the one above it and used a tiny brad and glue dots to stabilize it.  Then I cut one of the flowers from a strip of the 5/8" flower trim and stuck it in the center of the flower and fluffed the petals.  I used one of the Delicate Details embossing folder topped with a strip of the 5/8" flower trim.  The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials stamp set.

As you know, we have all our designs posted on the SFF BlogYou can also find the Linky tool so upload your own interpretation of the sketch.  Why not play along with us?

Enjoy!
