SFF071114 Tag a Birthday

Hi Stampers:

Friday comes along way too fast sometimes!  Not that I'm complaining.  I had good intentions to post more this week, but never got around to it.  Sigh...Well, at least I have a post for today.  It's Sketch Frenzy Friday time, and we have a great sketch from Patrice:
Such a cute sketch!  Here's what I did with it:
For this creation, I used 3 different stamp sets:  Kinda Eclectic, Endless Birthday Wishes, Bordering Blooms.  Paper is the new Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White.  Ink: Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Fringe Scissors, and 5/8" Natural Chevron Ribbon, and a few tiny pearls on the butterfly.  I love this set and have made 3 different cards from it, using basically the same same colors with a few changes.

I also stamped the inside of the card:

CCMCWINTER13-25 Color Challenge

Hi Stampers:

Once again I am playing along with Create with Connie and Mary.  This time it's a color challenge using:

Cherry Cobbler
Crumb Cake
Old Olive

I can't resist that combination--it is my all time favorite for Christmas cards.  Here's my card:
For this card I used a Crumb Cake card base, Season of Style DSP cut into banners and adhered to a Crumb Cake layer that was embossed with the Fancy Fan TIEF.  I stamped one of the ornaments from the Christmas Collectibles set with Old Olive, punched it out with the Ornament Punch, then stamped again with Cherry Cobbler and punched out the center with the 1/2" circle punch.  The center was popped up with a dimensional, and the ornament was also popped up.  I stamped Joyful Tidings from the Christmas Messages set with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, then cut it out with the smallest Deco Labels Framelit, sponged it with Old Olive and popped it up on the Crumb Cake with dimensionals.  The Crumb Cake layer was then popped up on the Crumb Cake base with dimensionals.  I am a big fan of popped up layers the same color as the card base. I almost forgot about the strip of 1/8" silver ribbon behind the ornament, and the rhinestones--a strip under the word Tidings, and one in the center of the ornament.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 05-10-13

Hi Stampers!

I'm back!!  Did you miss me??  Things have been hectic around my house, and I have been doing several vendor and craft shows, so stamping time has been limited.  However, I did find some time to stamp a card for this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday, based on the sketch by Jennifer:
I think this sketch is deceptively simple.  There are many ways it can be interpreted, and you will see several different ones from our designers.  Here's mine:
First, let me apologize for the way my card leans.  The best place to take pictures of my creations is in my kitchen, and I set my card on top of the paper towel spindle, not realizing that it would shift when I took the picture.  I tried to correct it in my FastStone program, but it still leans.  Oh well!

Here's what I used:
  • This and That Designer Series Paper
  • Pool Party card stock
  • This and That Designer Washi tape--the Crumb Cake with the diagonal stripe on top--with banner tails cut into the ends.
  • Retiring 2011-2013 In Color brads in Pool Party and Calypso Coral
I have really fallen in love with the This and That items, and have used them a LOT lately.  I will post some additional items I created in the next few days.

Now, go back to the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG and check out the other designers' creations.  Remember, we have everyone posted on the blog, for your convenience in viewing all of them.  Please join us with your own creation.  You'll find the Linky tool on the blog.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--A REAL Card!

Hi Stampers:
Well, it's Friday again and we have a great sketch for you from Sketch Frenzy Friday. The sketch this week was created by Tammy Baldwin, and here it is:

I love it!

And here is my card based on the sketch--a REAL card, stamped and assembled, not created in MDS:

I LOVE the vintage look and I LOVE MY CARD! Yes, I am blowing my own horn! I created the card for my husband's birthday, which is Feb. 24. Don't worry--he doesn't follow my blog or stamping, so he will never guess it is for him until I give it to him!
Here are the details: card base is Crumb Cake stamped with the bird cage and butterfly images from the Nature Walk set stamped with Crumb Cake ink--available in the Occasions Mini Catalog until April 30--edges of the card are sponged with Soft Suede. The layer at the bottom of the card is a strip of the green paper from Botanical Gazette DSP, edges sponged with Soft Suede--also available in the Occasions Mini. The vertical layer on the left is another strip of Botanical Gazette DSP mounted on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock also sponged with Soft Suede ink. I punched a large scallop circle shape from the brown--I think it's Soft Suede--paper from Botanical Gazette and mounted a Decorative Label punched shape sponged with Soft Suede ink on top. The Birthday Wishes sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set, also available in the Occasions Mini and it is stamped with Soft Suede ink. Instead of 4 brads, I decided to use 3 of the smallest Vanilla Rosettes and I also used a strip of the Chantilly crochet trim on the card.

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday!

Hi Stampers:

Today we have a sketch by Brenda:

I chose to follow the layout closely, and created this card in MDS:

I used Crumb Cake, Peach Parfait, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip for my colors. The faux ribbon across the card is Chocolate Chip stitching--one of the embellishments in MDS. In addition, I created my own sentiment and typed it on the card.
