Sketch Frenzy Friday--Birthday Sparkles

Hi Stampers:

It's time again for Sketch Frenzy Friday, and after a 4 week hiatus for me, I'm back!  I am the author of the sketch this week, and I created a birhday card for a friend, whose birthday was yesterday.  Here's my sketch:
Here's my card based on the sketch:
Instead of doing all squares, I chose to use a tea doily behind a square of Silver Glimmer paper.  The stamp set is the photopolymer set called Endless Birthday Wishes.  My colors are Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, and Coastal Cabana.  I used some rhinestones on the candle flames, and some Lost Lagoon ribbon tied around the cake element. The Lost Lagoon card base is textured with the Decorative Dots TIEF.   For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment on a Top Note die cut.

Here is a list of all the supplies I used:

Now hop on over to the SFF Blog and check out what all the designers have done with this sketch.  Don't forget to upload your design; we love to see what you create.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 08-02-13

Hi Stampers:

Today is the first Friday in August, and as with all Fridays, it's a Sketch Frenzy Friday!  We have an interesting sketch this week from Patrice:

Well, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this sketch, but I had the following items on my desk from a prior project:  Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Island Indigo and Whisper White card stock, Banner Greetings--hostess item--stamp set, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Delicate Designs Embossing folder.  So here is what I did with these items to make a card based on this sketch:

This picture is not the best.  On Wednesday, we had no internet due to failure of the cable to our house, so I had to use my cell phone to take a picture of the card so that it could be posted in our SFF folder and on the SFF blog, since we work ahead of the actual day it's posted.  So the internet was restored today, and hopefully it will stay up for a while.  I HATE IT when there is no internet, which also means no cable TV or home phone, since they all use the same cable.  I wish the sparkle of the rhinestones showed up a little better--the butterfly is so sparkly in real life.  I think the element with the butterfly looks like a package with a butterfly bow!  What do you think?

Now it's time to direct you to our main SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOGYou will find all the designers' contributions to this week's sketch AND also, you can add your own creation!  We would LOVE to see what you create using this sketch!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--Fourth of July A Day Late

Hi Stampers:

I know, I know--it's July 5th, not July 4th!!!  However, I waited until almost the last minute to create my card for the sketch this week, and, as luck would have it, I was able to CASE a July 4th card that a friend of mine created.  Here is the sketch, created by Jennifer:
And here is my creation:
For this card I used:
  • Whisper White, Real Red, and Midnight Muse card stock
  • Too Kind and Best of Greetings stamp sets
  • Silver Glimmer paper punched with the Scallop Border Punch
  • Basic Rhinestone jewels
  • Hardware Clips Essentials
  • Midnight Must stitched ribbon
  • Midnight Muse and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers
The word CELEBRATE! is an outline type font, and I thought it needed some oomph, so I filled in the outline of each letter with the markers.  I really think the blossoms from too kind look like fireworks, and THAT is the idea I got from Mary Brown.  If you would like to see her card, click HERE.

That's all from me.  If you want to see more, go to our SFF BLOG , and please join us.  We would love to see what you can do with this sketch!

Enjoy!!
