Summer Cards Here We Come!

Hi Stampers:

Yesterday, I did a workshop at my friend Mary's house, and although there was a low turnout, we had a blast! I wanted to share with you the two projects we did. The first one was a card:

This card makes me SO HAPPY! I didn't come up with the design--it is a direct case from another demonstrator on our Stampin' Connection web site. This is a website for demonstrators, with many THOUSANDS of samples. You never have to be original if you don't want to be! This card uses SEVERAL items from the Occasions Mini--which expires on 4-30-12:

  • Twitterpated DSP

  • Blossom Punch

  • Mixed Bunch and Tea Shoppe stamp sets

  • Hat pins

  • Adorning Accents Edgelits die

  • Adorning Accents Textured impressions embossing folder

  • Pleated ribbon

  • Basic Jewels pearls from the big IBC

The colors I used are Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo

The second project was a variation on the the 2-4-6-8 box with a window cut with the smallest Labels Framelit die:

Same colors, same DSP, with two added accessories: Twitterpated Buttons from the Occasions mini and clips from the IBC.

Do you need the supplies to make these two projects? Click on the Shop Now button on my blog and you will be taken to my Stampin' Up! business web site where you can order!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday-It's Almost Spring!

Hi Stampers:

And you sure can tell it around here! We had some horrible, nasty tornadoes last Friday, and the weather has been see-sawing from cold to warm ever since. My week has been busy with dentist appointments and working at the polls on Tuesday for the Ohio primary. Two women who came in to vote left their driver's licenses at the table in the precinct (Ohio requires showing a DL for verification before voting), so my husband and I had to deliver them to their homes after the day was over. And, it is a long day--we had to be there at 6:00 am, polls open at 6:30 am and close at 7:30 pm, then you have to verify that you have the correct number of voted ballots and pack up everything, so it was after 8:00 before we left. Needless to say, I have been trying to get my energy back ever since!

On to stamping! Here is our sketch from Robbie Rubala:

I LOVE this sketch. It's simple and elegant and that is what I tried to bring to my MDS creation:

I used a base color of Blushing Bride, then layered some digital Twitterpated DSP and a layer of Pear Pizzazz digital card stock and another layer of Baja Breeze digital cardstock. I am kind of proud of how I colored the image from the the Bordering on Romance stamp brush set! I used the digital circle and oval punches and color filled them with the colors I wanted and resized them to fit the flower shapes. I know there are other ways to do this, but I was pleased with how this turned out, so decided to leave it alone. For the flower center I used a pearl. I also used a heart punch shape and digital pleated ribbon. The sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp brush set.

Sketch Frenzy Friday--One of Those Days!!!

Hi Stampers:

Well, I finally got my SFF card done and posted at 12:30 this morning. Every thing that could keep me from posting HAPPENED to slow me down!! But it's now done! Here is our sketch from Patrice Herrera:

And here is my creation:

The picture is not extremely clear because my camera decided that the SD card drive is not going to work anymore, so I had to use my BlackBerry to take the picture and then futz (technical term!) to try to make it sharper. Here's what I used:

  • Basic gray card stock

  • Twitterpated DSP

  • Twitterpated buttons

  • Blossom punch

  • Pleated ribbon

  • Loving Thoughts stamp set

  • 1" square punch to make the banner ends on the greeting strip

  • Dimensionals

On the whole I am pretty pleased with the design of my card! Now CLICK OVER TO MARIA'S BLOG to see what she has created. And why not join us? You can upload your creation here: SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY BLOG.

Enjoy!
