Sketch Frenzy Friday-11/08/13 More Christmas

Hi Stampers!

Another Friday, and another SFF challenge.  Today's sketch was created by me:
And here is my creation:
Last week, I created a card in MDS using different purples.  Today, I am using Rich Razzlebery, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Silver Glimmer.  The stamp is one of the single Christmas Stamps that Stampin Up! released in the last couple of months.  I LOVE this stamp!  It is called Prince of Peace and the words are from the book of Isaiah in the Bible.  And Handel used these words for one of the choruses in his "Messiah" oratorio.  You probably don't know this, but I have been singing in choirs and doing solos since I was about 6 years old--and believe me, it's been quite a number of years.  Every year, I have to go to a sing-along presentation of the Messiah, and this chorus is one that is always performed.  I get a kick out of singing along with all the other amateur singers in the audience, and they have an orchestra playing also.

Back to the card:  In the sketch I had five banners at the bottom, but since I used the Deco Labels Framelits to cut out the sentiment and the Old Olive piece, only 3 banners worked for me.  The side piece of Silver Glimmer paper, was a partial cut of the smallest Deco Label.  The sentiment and the Old Olive pieces were cut with the next two sizes up.  I also used the Fancy Fan TIEF on the card.  The arrow piece at the top is my experimental part.  I stamped the arrow from A Banner Christmas with Rich Razzleberry.  I then used the double ended Bitty Banners Framelit to cut out the V end and reversed the pointy end to cut it with the same framelit.  Truthfully, I probably could have hand cut it faster, but I wanted to see if the framelit would work.  And it did!

OK, now it's time to check out what the other designers have done.  You can do that at our Sketch Frenzy Friday blogAnd, you can add your own take on the sketch.  Please join us:  we LOVE to see what you create!

Hi Stampers:

It's that awesome day of the week again-FRIDAY!!  And time for more Sketch Frenzy Friday!  Today we have a cute sketch from Maria:
And here is my card based on Maria's great sketch:
As I was making my card, I imagined that my little witch was playing hide and seek and disappeared leaving her boots and hat behind.  I decorated her boots with a little bling-rhinestones, and she is hiding behind the Spooky greeting and her Googly eyes are bugging out trying to see what's going on.  Her little frog friend is waiting for her to reappear!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--It's a Lovely Summer Smooches MDS Day

Hi Stampers:

The weather around here has been lovely and VERY MUCH like summer. We have broken or tied 5 temperature records here in the Cincinnati area this week. We've also had lots of sun and breezes! Lovely weather, but too much too soon, I say! What happened to spring? It feels like summer! Thus, my creation today, using the Summer Smooches MDS downloads. Demonstrators got to order this sneak peak from the new catalog during March (don't you want to be a demo to get all this neat stuff?) Customers will be able to order these items during April. So on with the show! Here is our sketch this week, created by Patrice for Tammy B:

And here is my creation:

Almost everything I used is from the Summer Smooches download. The exceptions are the punches--rounded square, square, scallop border, oval, and 5 petal flower; the flower in the middle, which is from the Mixed Bunch stamp brush set; and the Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon. The word "relax" in the oval punch shape is from the Summer Smooches stamp brush set. I love this card--very bright and fun and has two of my favorite colors--Rich Razzleberry and Real Red!

Now let's click over to MARIA'S BLOG to see what she has created this week. And PLEASE join us! We'd love to see your creation posted on our main blog, SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--It's My Sketch!

Hi Stampers:

Yes, it is Friday, yes it is time for Sketch Frenzy Friday, yes--it's my sketch design. I am so excited to bring you this sketch! I LOVE circles and I LOVE layering them. I also LOVE our Designer Paper--even if it is only available in My Digital Studio! So, without further ado, here is the sketch:

And here is my card--created completely in My Digital Studio:

I used a NEW download called Wicked Fun Kit, which became available on Sept. 6. I have and love the set called Wicked Cool and I still have some pieces of the Designer Paper which came out last year and is not now available to buy, but IS available now in MDS. I took elements from the Wicked Fun Kit and used them to create the card. The colors in this kit are Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, and I think there is some Pumpkin Pie in it also, as shown by the label under the Spooky. And speaking of that sentiment, isn't that font cool looking? I love it! I would love to have a whole alphabet of it to play with!

Enough from me! Now it's time to go to MARIA's blog to check out what she has done. Also--you can go to our SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY blog to upload your creation, and to start at the beginning of out mini tour.

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--My Favorite Color

Hi Stampers!

It's Friday! And time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday creation. Our sketch this week is provided by Jennifer Weide:

And here's my project--created in My Digital Studio:

My favorite color is PURPLE! You would think I would use it more often in stamping and creating, but for some reason I always think I'm going to get in a rut and become BORING if I use it too much. Consequently, I hardly ever use it! So today I did!!

Here's what I used in MDS:

  • Card base: Perfect Plum

  • 1st layer: Cottage Garden Designer Series Paper. Yes, it is available in MDS although no longer available as traditional DSP

  • 2nd layer: Whisper White

  • Just Believe stamp brush set--label image in Rich Razzleberry, sentiment in Perfect Plum

  • Victoria crochet ribbon made a little wider than real life.

That's it for me. Now click over to Maria's blog to continue our mini tour or click over to the main Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to start at the beginning or to upload your own creation.

Enjoy!

I needed a Wedding Card!

Hi Stampers!

On Sunday, my sweetie and I will be attending an open house reception for the daughter of some good friends who recently got married. I don't own any wedding sets, so I decided to make a card in My Digital Studio and I will then print it on my home printer to give to Ali and her husband Phil. Here is my creation:

Using MDS allowed me to make a quick and easy card in approximately 10 minutes. I used one of the beautiful Summer Splendor background papers and overlaid another background paper in Rich Razzleberry on the bottom of the card. I then used the Curly Label punch image in two different sizes to create a layered look label. I made up my own sentiment and typed it on the top label in a script font from my computer. I also used a Rich Razzleberry bow to dress it up.

If you would like to create your own My Digital Studio projects, just click on my Shop Now button in the upper right column and order it today!

Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--Such Fun!

Greetings Stampers!

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday once again, and once again I have used My Digital Studio (MDS) to create my project.

Here's the sketch by Connie Smith:

Isn't it great? Well, I LOVE the sketch, but my interpretation of it?--not so much. Here it is:
I seem to be stuck in a pinks and purples rut these days! My colors are Rose Red, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, and Chocolate Chip. I used punch images: Boho Blossoms large, 1.25" circle, 1.25" square, Modern Label. Stamp images used are the Always circle, the label from Favorite Things, and the Thankful from Calendar Basics kit. It's Sketch Frenzy Friday Number 2!!

Hi Everyone:

One of the GREAT things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is getting to hook up with other demonstrators who share your passion for stamping. As part of the Late Nite Stampers, I get to hang out with other great demonstrators and stampers who have enormous talent for this craft I love.

Recently, some of us formed a sub-group to post a sketch and samples made from that sketch every Friday. The group actually posted their first sketch and samples LAST Friday, 5/21, but due to computer circumstances beyond my control, I couldn't participate. But, being the great bunch of people they are, I have another chance to participate THIS week. Here's the template:

And here is my sample:

I am VERY happy with my sample! I used the fabulous Vintage Vogue set, which is carrying over to the new catalog in July. The cardstock colors are Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry. Inks are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, and Pale Plum. Instead of the line of same-sized brads, I used one of the filigree brads with a larger silver colored brads from the 5/16"neutrals brad assortment. For the greeting instead of using Hodge Podge hardware, I stamped the greeting on Whisper White which I punched out with the scallop oval punch, then I backed it with a scallop oval cut out with the Movers and Shapers die for the big shot. My ribbon is the Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon.
Don't forget to check out the other Sketch Frenzy Friday blogs. You can find a list in the left sidebar under the Sketch Frenzy Friday logo OR, see my 5/27 post just below this.

Royal Blog Tour Starts Now!

Hello everyone and welcome to my castle on the Royal Blog Tour! I have three projects that I created for this tour. I chose the stamp set Asian Artistry, which is a Level 2 hostess set in the current catalog. If you host a workshop and your workshop total is at least $300, you can choose this set for FREE! It's a gorgeous set and I love the simplicity and the nature theme of the set. Here's the whole set of projects: a 4-1/4"X5" card, a Fancy Favor box and a small scallop circle gift card which fits in the Fancy Favor box

For all three projects I used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive textured card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Basic Black Stampin' Write marker, and Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. On the large card, I embossed a piece of Old Olive card stock with the Square Lattice embossing folder which will be available in the Summer Mini catalog beginning May 1. Here's a picture of the inside of the card--I love to dress up the inside!

And finally--here's a picture of the Fancy Favor box and the small scalloped card--both made with the Big Shot--and both a lot of fun!!

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Thanks for visiting! And don't forget to look for the clues needed to sign up for the Big Shot drawing!! To go to the next blog, click on the glass slippers.
