It's Sketch Frenzy Friday!!

Hi Stampers:

On Thursday, I drove up to my downline's house (hi Casey!) to stamp with her and another demonstrator, Amy. We had a great time! And I was so busy working on other projects that I DID NOT stamp anything for SFF! So, guess what? You're right! I used My Digital Studio again. Before I show you my creation, let's look at our sketch this week:

Tammy Fite is our artist this week, and I think it's a great sketch! Here's my creation:

I used 2 of the Botanical Gazette papers plus a Pear Pizzazz layer and a Very Vanilla layer. The base is Daffodil Delight. Now that spring is on it's way--don't laugh!--I decided to use a couple of brighter colors. I love Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz! The different layers were made with the 1-1/4" punch resized. And you can also see Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and bow. I wish they would add Daffodil Delight to the Satin Ribbon selections in MDS. Hmmm, maybe I should send that suggestion to Stampin' Up!

Sketch Frenzy Friday--A REAL Card!

Hi Stampers:
Well, it's Friday again and we have a great sketch for you from Sketch Frenzy Friday. The sketch this week was created by Tammy Baldwin, and here it is:

I love it!

And here is my card based on the sketch--a REAL card, stamped and assembled, not created in MDS:

I LOVE the vintage look and I LOVE MY CARD! Yes, I am blowing my own horn! I created the card for my husband's birthday, which is Feb. 24. Don't worry--he doesn't follow my blog or stamping, so he will never guess it is for him until I give it to him!
Here are the details: card base is Crumb Cake stamped with the bird cage and butterfly images from the Nature Walk set stamped with Crumb Cake ink--available in the Occasions Mini Catalog until April 30--edges of the card are sponged with Soft Suede. The layer at the bottom of the card is a strip of the green paper from Botanical Gazette DSP, edges sponged with Soft Suede--also available in the Occasions Mini. The vertical layer on the left is another strip of Botanical Gazette DSP mounted on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock also sponged with Soft Suede ink. I punched a large scallop circle shape from the brown--I think it's Soft Suede--paper from Botanical Gazette and mounted a Decorative Label punched shape sponged with Soft Suede ink on top. The Birthday Wishes sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set, also available in the Occasions Mini and it is stamped with Soft Suede ink. Instead of 4 brads, I decided to use 3 of the smallest Vanilla Rosettes and I also used a strip of the Chantilly crochet trim on the card.

Sketch Frenzy Friday--Springtime Vintage

Hi Stampers!

Another Friday, another sketch! That's right, it's Sketch Frenzy Friday again! Here's our sketch by Sharon Field:

And here's my MDS card of the sketch:

As you can see, I once again used the Springtime Vintage DSP in MDS. I also used the MDS Chat Room-Love stamp brush set, colored Rose Red, Seam Binding ribbon in Rose Red, the full heart punch in Rose Red, a Brad in Baja Breeze, and a button in Baja Breeze. The card base is Basic Grey, the first layer is Baja Breeze, and the second layer is one of the Springtime Vintage patterns. I really LOVE doing cards in MDS and I LOVE the Springtime Vintage DSP. I guess I should probably also try making some traditional cards with REAL DSP, ribbon, brads, buttons and Stamps!

Sketch Frenzy Friday-2-4-11 It's Vintage

Hi Stampers:

Well, it's Friday again, so that must mean it's time again for Sketch Frenzy Friday! Here is this week's sketch, provided by a fabulous Australian demo, Ros Davidson:

This is a great simple sketch that leaves lots of room for imagination and creativity. My interpretation, as usual is done with My Digtital Studio:

I love the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper in the Occasions mini, so I also bought the MDS Digital download. The download does not include ALL the papers from the pack, but there are selections of all the colors. I also love the Vintage Flower embellishments. In real life, they are plastic--flat on one side and raised on the other. To make them appear more 3-D, I used a drop shadow on all of them. I also used the Chantilly crochet ribbon trim and a bow, and used a drop shadow on them also. The sentiment is typed using a font on my computer and colored Early Espresso. I layered the Decorative label punch in Rose Red and Very Vanilla with drop shadows for them also. The card base is Crumb Cake. The largest paper layer is not from the Sprintime Vintage papers, but is one of the Baja Breeze background papers. The smallest paper layer is Springtime Vintage. Well, that's it!
