Sketch Frenzy Friday--My Sketch with Sneak Peek

Hi Stampers!

Don't you think some weeks seem to go faster than others? It sure seemed that way to me this week! It's Sketch Frenzy Friday again!!! YAY! And the sketch this week is MY creation. YAY!! (LOL-blowing my own horn here!) Here's the sketch:

Here's my creation:

I am SO HAPPY with this card! I used new inks--Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade and the new Wisteria Wonder card stock. Other items:

  • Fabulous Florets stamp set--in the Summer Mini

  • Swirls and Curls Verses--Level 1 hostess set in the summer mini

  • Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

  • 2-1/2" Circle Punch

  • 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch

  • Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon

  • Stampin' Dimensionals

  • Mini Glue Dots--to stick the bow onto the card

  • Sponged edges in Wisteria Wonder

  • Whisper White card stock

I mentioned last week that I LOVE PURPLE, and this new addition to the purple palette is lovely. It looks like a grayed lavender to me. Lucky Limeade kind of reminds me of Kiwi Kiss, but it goes beautifully with Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.

Stampin' Up! Convention--The most exciting time of the stamping year!

Hi Stampers:

If you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, this is the most exciting time of the year! The new catalog for 2011-2012 debuts on July1 AND the annual demonstrator convention is July 13-16 this year. Convention is held in Salt Lake City, the home location of Stampin' Up!, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Convention is AMAZING--lots of classes, swaps, sharing with other demos, give-aways, foods, displays, and surprises. In additon, the Late Night Stampers demo only group holds pre-convention events--shoe box swaps, WOW demonstrations, swaps, and lots of stamping time BEFORE convention even begins. I am so lucky to be a part of this group! Although I cannot attend convention this year, I am already signed up for the LNS pre-convention events for NEXT year, and I am REALLY EXCITED to be able to attend. Our group "Mom" Sherrill Graff--her blog is HERE--is a wonderful mentor, stamper, friend, and leader. She encourages and helps EVERYONE--even if they are not a part of her actual downline, which I am not. I want to grow up to be like her!

If your are currently a demonstrator, here's the link to information and sign up for the 2012 LNS Demo pre-convention events: http://2012latenightstamperevents.eventbrite.com/

If you are NOT a demonstrator, you are missing the BEST business opportunity I know. I have been a demonstrator for 12-1/2 years--longer than I have worked for some companies in the 9-5 business world--and I don't regret one minute of it! Please consider joining us in this fun and awesome business. I would LOVE to have you as a part of my Kim's Kreative Inkers group! Here's the link to sign up as demonstrator: http://kiminnis.stampinup.net Click on the Start Your Own Business tab underneath my contact info in the upper right hand corner.

Sketch Frenzy Friday--My Favorite Color

Hi Stampers!

It's Friday! And time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday creation. Our sketch this week is provided by Jennifer Weide:

And here's my project--created in My Digital Studio:

My favorite color is PURPLE! You would think I would use it more often in stamping and creating, but for some reason I always think I'm going to get in a rut and become BORING if I use it too much. Consequently, I hardly ever use it! So today I did!!

Here's what I used in MDS:

  • Card base: Perfect Plum

  • 1st layer: Cottage Garden Designer Series Paper. Yes, it is available in MDS although no longer available as traditional DSP

  • 2nd layer: Whisper White

  • Just Believe stamp brush set--label image in Rich Razzleberry, sentiment in Perfect Plum

  • Victoria crochet ribbon made a little wider than real life.

That's it for me. Now click over to Maria's blog to continue our mini tour or click over to the main Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to start at the beginning or to upload your own creation.

SFF 6-10-11-A Little Creation

Hi Stampers:

Well, it's Friday again and you know what that means--Sketch Frenzy Friday!!! We have a great and simple sketch this week courtesy of Deb Currier:

And here's my creation:

I can't seem to get away from using Daffodil Delight paired with one of our fabulous greens--this time Wild Wasabi. Here's what I used:

  • Daffodil Delight card base

  • 2-1/2" circle punched Whisper White

  • Charming stamp set: the script stamp was inked in Soft Suede, stamped off twice and then stamped on the white circle and off the edge onto the Daffodil Delight. The flower sprig was inked with Wild Wasabi and Poppy Parade markers and stamped on the circle. The CREATE stamp was inked with Soft Suede and stamped full strength.

  • Punched the scallop lace border punch out of Wild Wasabi

A quick and simple card that took me no more than 10 minutes to create, that is, after I decided what colors and stamp set to use!

SFF 6-3-11 The Open Sea

Hi Stampers:

VERY quick post today--my week has been crazy busy! Here's our sketch from Angela Walters:

And here's my creation--pretty faithful to the sketch:

I used Not Quite Navy textured card stock for the card base, a layer of Nautical Expedition DSP, stamped 4 compass images from the Open Sea set (available in the Summer Mini catalog) with Early Espresso ink, punched them out with the 1-1/4" circle punch, sponged the edges with the same ink, popped them up with dimensionals, added a length of Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon where the two halves of DSP meet, tied a bow and put it on top, and there you have it!
